Emerald Spirit Designs are experienced at making alterations to solo dresses. We are able to work on dresses from any designer to help achieve that perfect fit when a dancer has grown or purchased a second-hand dress.

Alteration Price List
Length Adjustment
A length adjustment involves removing the skirt from the dress and lengthening the bodice before reattaching. Stones are removed from the area to be sewn and reattached once the alteration is completed. The price varies depending on the quantity of stones and if the entire skirt needs removal.

Width Adjustment
Width adjustments can vary in complexity. If only minor adjustments to the side bodice seams are required then the alteration is fairly simple. If the skirt needs to be removed or the back seam needs adjusting then that can increase the complexity and cost.

Sleeve Replacement
The base price for sleeve replacement ranges depending on the fabrics chosen, this typically ranges from $120 to $150. Velvet can require an additional cost.
If embroidery is needed on the sleeves then the cost will vary depending on the amount and complexity of the embroidery.

Additional Stones
The pricing for additional stones covers the time and consumables such as glue. It does not include the sourcing of stones as this will vary depending on the types of stones preferred.

We are happy to help source stones to match your dress but please be aware that the cost of this will be passed on to the customer.

Alterations include;

Fit check of dress on dancer before and following alteration.

Removal and replacement of existing stones in alteration area

Additional placement of up to 20 stones provided by customer.

Use of an existing zip or suitable replacement zip provided by the customer for width adjustment.
Please Note: If you require additional stones to be purchased for the dress these should be discussed in advance and sourced following discussion but prior to the alteration commencing. The cost of new stones will be the responsibility of the customer. Only glass stones from reputable suppliers will be accepted due to possible reactions between plastic stones and the glues used.

All prices given are general in nature and subject to change depending on the complexity of a particular alteration. Where issues are discovered in the construction of a dress requiring additional work to rectify the customer will be contacted and a solution and cost discussed prior to work continuing.
The price of alterations will vary depending on the number of stones that need to be removed as well as any additional challenge with matching up embroidery or design elements.
